Abundantly living.
Moving on past Christmas season and ahead into the month of ‘love’, I’d like to ask “Why?” Why did Jesus come into the world? The Apostle John tells us: “God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:9; John 10:10)
So that; a very important phrase.
When reading Scripture you should always pay attention to “so that” and “therefore.” God the Father sent Jesus into the world so that we might live. In John 10:10 Jesus says that he came (so) that we might come fully alive; so that we might live an abundant life.
I want that, don’t you?
A life that is whole, complete, rich, and confident in God’s faithfulness.

What does this life look like? The answer, at least in part, is this: the abundant life of Jesus is marked by personal devotion – a life of prayer and reading God’s Word. This is foundational to having a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. So, how are your daily devotionals going so far this year?
I would encourage everyone to read through at least the New Testament in 2019. I will make you this promise: if you will daily pray and read the New Testament, you will be a different person when Christmas comes next year.

In addition to devotion, the abundant life that Jesus brings is characterized by generosity – living a generous life! I am continually amazed at how much you all give for the sake of the Church and God’s glory. May your generous giving bless your lives abundantly!

Finally, I believe Jesus came as a result of God’s love for us. He created us in his image so that we can have a personal intimate relationship of love with him. Remember, Jesus summed up all the laws of God by stating we are to love God with all we are and love others the same.
Abundantly living comes through abundantly loving.

May Jesus bless you this month in the season of love! You are amazing people and I love you.

In Christ,

Pastor Dan
